in the mystery field. MWA watches developments in legislation
and tax law, sponsors symposia and mystery conferences, presents the
Edgar SM Awards, and provides information for
mystery writers. Membership in MWA is open to published authors, editors,
screenwriters, and other professionals in the field.

of State Poetry Societies
The NFSPS is a non-profit organization,
exclusively educational and literary. Its purpose is to recognize the importance
of poetry with respect to national cultural heritage. It is dedicated solely
to the furtherance of poetry on the national level and serves to unite poets
in the bonds of fellowship and understanding.

horizons, the Poetry Society of America has readings, seminars, and competitions

Romance Writers of America is the professional association for 8,600 published
and aspiring romance writers. Members of RWA write the novels that make up 55%
of all popular paperback fiction and that generate more than $1 billion in sales
each year.

in existence. Supports published Science Fiction and Fantasy Authors.
- Society of Children's
Book Writers and Illustrators
Offers services to people who write, illustrate, or share an interest in
children's literature. The SCBWI acts as a network for the exchange of knowledge

Union for Freelance Writers in all genres.
They actively contribute to a growing movement of professional freelancers who
